MISSION
“In 1977, God called us to start a church in El Paso and teach people how to live the abundant life that Jesus came to give us.” – Pastor Charles Nieman
Our mission is to reach people far from God, teach people how to live a better life through applying God’s Word, and to make a difference in our community. We believe church should be a place where people of all backgrounds can gather and worship God freely, grow in the knowledge of God’s Word, be encouraged in their faith, develop positive relationships with fellow believers, and be empowered to share God’s love with others. We believe that life is bigger than ourselves and that our faith in Christ compels us to serve others. Jesus’ command in Matthew 25 is built into the DNA of our church – we feed the hungry, clothe the poor and visit those in prison.
Our mission is based on these core scriptures:
John 10:10 – The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Romans 8:31 – What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Matthew 25:34-36 – Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

We Believe In God
Jesus
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life. He ascended to heaven and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make men aware of their need for Jesus Christ. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth and guidance. We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water and be filled with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.

Church
Throughout the Bible, it is evident that the church is established by Christ, loved by Christ and part of God’s plan for humanity. God is building His Church throughout the earth and each local church is a part of His work globally. We believe, according to the scripture, that God establishes His Kingdom on earth primarily through His Church, and that every believer should be involved in the local church.

Salvation
We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives. We believe God in His great love for us, lovingly crucified His own Son, Jesus, to forgive humanity from sin and make a way for us to become part of His family. We believe this gift of salvation is completely free and cannot be earned by human efforts. Jesus’ death was the only way we could be forgiven and it is our faith in Christ alone that gives us access to God’s beautiful gift of eternal salvation.

Humanity
Jesus said, “I have come to give you life more abundantly.” God’s plan for humanity is LIFE and life more abundantly. We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and blessed lives in order to help others more effectively. We believe God is good. He is for us – not against us. He does not use tragedy, illness or acts of nature to teach us. We believe that God through Christ has made us righteous and free from sin. We believe that this good news is too good to keep to ourselves! God has commanded us and works with us to share the good news of Jesus Christ throughout the earth.

Charles Nieman
Charles Nieman is a pastor, author, and international conference speaker. With a passion to teach people how to enjoy the abundant life Jesus came to give, Charles, along with his wife Rochelle, began teaching in a home Bible study with 12 people in 1977. The Bible study would later become Abundant Living Faith Center – a 30,000 member, multi-campus church in El Paso, Texas.
Pastor Charles trains pastoral leaders and speaks in conferences throughout the United States and around the globe. His ministry reach has expanded to South Africa, Australia, Canada, South America, Mexico, England, Indonesia, Scotland, Portugal, Peru, Sweden, Singapore, Iceland, and Norway.
Rochelle Nieman went on to be with the Lord on December 30th, 2012. Her love for God and His Kingdom emanated in who she was and in all that she did. Her drive for excellence remains a touchstone at the church she and Charles co-founded.
Today, Charles, along with his children, Shannon and Jared, continues to pastor Abundant Living Faith Center. 2017 marks forty years as a church. Since those days of small beginnings, the mission remains the same – Charles is still teaching people how to enjoy the abundant life that Jesus came to give. Moving forward, he is determined to live his life with a vengeance and make a bigger difference in this world than ever before.

Shannon Nieman
Shannon, daughter of Pastors Charles and Rochelle Nieman, carries the vision of her parent’s ministry beyond the four walls of the church into her community. She teaches God’s Word with a passion, instilling her immovable belief that everyone has a NEW LIFE with Christ in them.
Shannon serves as an Associate Pastor at Abundant Living Faith Center, the Superintendent of Faith Christian Academy, and she oversees many other facets of the ministries in the church. She loves God, loves life, and loves people, especially her family. She and her husband, Matthew, are a fun-loving couple completely devoted to their children, Emery Rochelle and Grayson Matthew.
Pastor
Jared Nieman
As the son of Pastors Charles and Rochelle Nieman, Jared grew up on the front row of church. In addition to being the administrator of Abundant Living Faith Center, he now serves as a teaching pastor at the church.
Jared, his wife Karla, son Caleb and their daughter Charlotte have committed their lives to building the Church and to continuing the work Charles and Rochelle started many years ago. They also have an awesome dog appropriately named, “Awesome”.
